Storage Solution Recommendations for your Cabinets & Drawers

Cabinet Storage Recommendations

Sliding Basket Storage

Sliding basket storage are great for keeping things separated in their own drawer. It makes for easy access and put away as the baskets pull in and out. I'm biased to the acrylic containers over the mesh because they last longer, more durable, and are aesthetic goals! I love the fact that these baskets are great for vertical space as well. These give more room to store other things now that you can take up unused vertical space which is something that the other options below are unable to do on their own. The add bonus is you can move them from one space to another with ease.

Stationary Drawers

Stationary drawers are great for spaces that need a permanent storage solution. These can't be changed with ease because a lot of them require the tracks to be bolt or screwed in place. However, they are a nice way of pulling out and access all contents in the drawer at one time. You are unable to stack these as they will create vertical dead space but depending on their home, it is so worth the install. For example, keeping pots, pans, and their lids tidy. The only problem with these is sometimes they may not pull out all the way to fully view everything or if they are stacked you have to make an extra effort to see the contents in the back (Spice rack Above). That is where a Lazy Susan comes in handy.

Lazy Susan's

Lazy Susan's are another favorite way to storage. You can visually see and have access to everything on the shelf. Depending on which one you pick, they can also be stylish and come in whatever size you want. I love using these in those hard to reach area's where you need to store a lot of stuff, those forgotten area's of your cabinet and you refrigerator. It has become more of a necessity for storage and evolved in the Super Susan.I have a couple of examples below. Super Susan's have allowed room for maximum storage by reaching into the seemingly dead spaces in the kitchen where they is a cabinet behind the cabinet and without the Super Susan things in the kitchen would go there to be forgotten. If you have those spaces in your kitchen, I highly recommend the Super Susan.

Cabinet Dividers

These are fantastic for maximizing vertical storage of those taller trays and pans that go in your oven and cutting boards.

Baskets

I wanted to show examples of what I would not recommend as far as basket storage. Anything with holes or perforated, I would not recommend because things fall out. Storage is all about containing the mess. These baskets just don't keep up with the task. They look nice and you can see everything in them. If something does not need to be ventilated. I would steer clear. Now if you are storing bigger items in these baskets that won't fall through then you may have a shot.

However, I would recommend these baskets. They are a great way to make a shelf look neat if you want to cover up the contents on each shelf. Most importantly, they contain the mess and things are less likely to fall out.

Drawer Storage Recommendations

Trays

I would highly recommend these trays to keep your drawers tidy and organized. The containers having all 4 sizes and a bottom contain the mess and don't let your things seep under the cracks like with other drawer organization systems. The only drawback to these trays is getting them to fit in your space. They have adjustable trays so you have no problems fitting and adjusting them to the space you need.

Dividers

I just wanted to address the elephant in the room, drawer dividers. These are the weakest link when it comes to drawer organization. The main reason is they fall down, things somehow make their way under the dividers and over to the other side, reeking havoc on your organization. Steer clear of these if you can and stick to trays.

Baskets

Baskets are similar to trays with getting them to fit in your desired space but be careful again which baskets you choose. If you get the perforated ones you could be in for a clean up sooner than later. I have a few recommendations for baskets that work great in a drawer above.

Pegs

Last but not least on this organization recommendations round up are drawer pegs. The way in which pegs are being used to keep dishes and plates in their place, in a drawer, is genius! They maximize space and keep your dishes from clanking together if you have a heavy hand like myself. An added bonus is the pegs are adjustable making them ideal for anyone who needs to make room for more.
