The Food & Drinks
I wanted to talk about the most important part of the event, the food and drinks. You don't have to go out of your way and budget buying a wide variety of food and drinks just to call it a brunch. I am going to tell you about the basic things you can have for a really nice display and meal and it didn't cost a ton of money. The spread of food you see in my pictures was enough to feed 10 people comfortably and I spent about $50. I included a checklist of all the food item's and pricing below. Incase you need a great chicken and waffle recipe, here is a good Chic-fil-a copycat recipe, here. I have also linked a waffle maker and mix.
Items | Price |
1 carton of Strawberries
| $3.60 |
1 carton of Blueberries
| $4.41 |
1 Pack of Chicken | $11 |
Waffle Mix | $2.99 |
1 Pack of Bacon | $7.00 |
1 Pack of Sausage | $4.87 |
Banana Pudding | $6.92 |
1/2 dozen Deviled Eggs | $1.75 |
Cupcakes | $1.69 |
Funfetti Icing | $1.59 |
Barefoot Spritzer, Pink Moscato | $5.85 |
Welch's Sparkling Cider | $1.00 |
Total | $52.67 |
The Decor

There is a lot to unpack here. I wanted to incorporate the old with the new in an elegant and cozy vibe. A lot of my decor I had on hand already. My breakfast area is not a big space. I wanted a different look and didn't need my bulky dinning table to take up alot of space since we were going to be moving around taking pictures and getting food. That's when I "shopped my house" for items to change up the space. I had this slender buffet table that I moved to the center of the room to be my new dinning table for the party. Next, I moved my small pedestal tables in my den so I would have a place to set up the food.
The Activities
This year I wanted to do a brunch because that's what us girls love to do. Its in the middle of the day we are energized, ready to socialize, and it feels like we have all the time in the world. This inspired this year's motto "I love my girls a Brunch." Since we are in the middle a pandemic, I planned this Galentine's Day to be a virtual, which means all the activities could be done virtually as well. I had a pick up time for the goody bags which contained information, instructions, and cut outs for a vision board and a sweet treat. My guests had the option to complete the vision board virtually over the computer using Canva or make an old fashioned paper one. This was a huge success because everyone expressed they was happy to have the time carved out to get all their ideas and goals out on paper. I didn't realize everyone doesn't take the time to do that so I was delighted that I thought of that as an activity.
Galentine's Day is all about celebrating the love we have for our best gal pals so what better way to introduce the second activity with a love your girl and all her accomplishment's speech. Everyone picked one person at the party and shared why they are proud based on recent accomplishments the group may not have heard or know about. We never take the time to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done so what better way to do that than celebrate your girl. We had congratulated speeches for recent house purchase, recent job, and I even got a shout out for my growing Youtube channel! These are just a couple of idea's you can use for your own Galentine's Day celebration. I love that these ideas are so versatile, working for both in person and virtual gatherings. How will you be celebrating this year?
